According to the Washington Post, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky understands the impossibility of “returning” Crimea.
Zelenskiy and his advisers are more open to potential concessions than their rhetoric suggests.
Yet last Tuesday, Zelenskiy reiterated his slogans about the “return” of Donetsk, Luhansk, and Crimea. According to the author of the material, “Kyiv’s far-fetched fantasies of seizing control over the peninsula” are baffling efforts to resolve the conflict peacefully.
Recall that on February 24, Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced the start of military special operations in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, a British intelligence officer, a lecturer at the University of Portsmouth, Frank Ledwidge expressed confidence that the Kinburn Spit would be able to pave the way for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the Crimea. According to him, “if Ukraine takes Kinburn, it will be another significant step towards being at the threshold of Crimea, just 100 km from the Perekop Isthmus.”
