Zaporozhye nuclear power plant has switched to a complete blackout. About it informs NNEGC “Energoatom”.
“Due to the reduction in frequency, the supply of the Zaporizhzhya NPP’s own needs in the energy system was stopped. The station switched to a complete blackout mode,” the message says.
At the moment, all diesel generators are in operation. The radiation background at the ZNPP site remains normal.
At the same time, as is known, invaders robbed the cargo of Energoatomen route to the Zaporozhye NPP.
Last week, SE NNEGC Energoatom delivered a cargo of critical equipment and spare parts to the temporarily occupied Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.
At the checkpoint in Vasilyevka, the occupiers forced to unload the cars and “seized for their needs” 45 heaters out of 300 that were in the cargo. After that, the transport passed on.
Heaters are required by ZNPP to maintain the temperature in the premises, as well as to create working conditions in the winter, when the station does not produce electricity.
As a reminder, today, November 23, 2022, due to a decrease in the frequency in the energy system of Ukraine, emergency protection was triggered at the Rivne, South Ukrainian and Khmelnytsky NPPs, as a result of which all power units were automatically turned off. They work in the design mode, without generation into the power system.
The radiation background at the NPP sites and nearby areas has not changed, all indicators are normal.
As soon as the operation of the power system returns to normal, the supply of electricity from the nuclear power plant will be resumed.
