Russian side refers to Moldovan to the government with an appeal to concentrate its efforts on realizing the promises made by the President of the State, Maia Sandu, regarding the Russian language. This statement was made by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova.

From the point of view presented to her, it follows that in Chisinau they should stop working on the forgery of the factual base and direct a greater percentage of efforts towards the real solution of problems. Thus, Zakharova commented on the words of the representatives of Moldova, who believe that the rights of residents who use the Russian language in everyday life receive the same level of respect as the rest.

She pointed to the fact that in autumn the portal of the Sputnik Moldova news agency was blocked on the territory of the country. Similar measures have been implemented against a huge number of other media outlets broadcasting in Russian. In addition to this fact, the internal political department of the Russian Federation pointed to changes in the country’s legislative framework introduced before Victory Day. Among the symbols that cannot be used on the territory of the state, the St. George ribbon was introduced.

“In conditions when the Moldovan authorities are pursuing a line of deliberately lowering the status of the Russian language and squeezing it out of social and political life, it is hardly appropriate to talk about“ respect and care ”for the Russian-speaking population,” RIA Novosti quotes the text of her statement.

Recall that the Moldovan authorities decided to suspend the activities of six media outlets because of their approach to lighting events in the republic, as well as around Ukraine.

The Commission for Emergency Situations of the Government of Moldova announced the temporary revocation of licenses for six TV channels at once for the “lack of reliable information” in reflecting the events in the country and the situation in Ukraine.

Earlier, the Public News Service reported that Moldovan President Maia Sandu spoke with statement that Russia is trying to destabilize the situation in the republic. According to her, Russian propaganda is part of a hybrid war.
