The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, commented on the situation with the slogans “Glory Ukraine”and” Glory to the Heroes!

Earlier it became known that the Russian singer Valery Meladze at a corporate party in Dubai continued the first greeting with a second phrase at the request of a fan.

The diplomat in her Telegram channel decided to remind the story to those who “use these code words because of their illiteracy or immorality.”

As follows from its publication, in August 1939, the second congress of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists* took place in fascist Italy. Its participants accepted the greeting “Glory to Ukraine!” and the response cry “Glory to the Leader!” (Glory to the leaders), the speaker clarified.

After the split of the OUN * in 1941, the supporters of Stepan Bandera held a second congress in Krakow, where they approved these slogans as their own greeting.

Zakharova I noticed that those pronouncing them raised their straightened right arm at an angle to the right just above the head. “Familiar, isn’t it?” she stressed.

Now people seem to use these greetings as a joke, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out. Their excuses won’t work, she added. “Every time someone uses these passcodes, they are saluting precisely Nazism and fascism,” the author of the post explained.
