Members World Trade Organization (WTO) sent USA more than 2,000 written questions demanding clarifications on state government policies, as well as national security generalizations and the compliance of the Inflation Reduction Act and the Chip Act with WTO rules. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

WTO meetings were held in Geneva to discuss US trade policy. The meetings were attended by 65 representatives of the member countries of the organization.

According to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, 32 WTO members sent more than 2,000 written questions to the United States. They concerned the compliance with WTO rules of the recently introduced US Inflation Reduction Act, the Chip Act and related measures. Also in the focus of attention was the policy of US public procurement and national security generalizations.

China’s permanent representative to the WTO, Li Chenggang, noted that the United States “is retreating from the multilateral trading system, violating the laws of the economy and the rules of the market, which affects the stability of global production chains and supply chains.”
