On December 16, the Russian Armed Forces carried out massive strikes on targets in Ukraine from Ternopil to Kharkov. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Valery Zaluzhny reported that in total Russia released 76 missiles from the regions of the Caspian and Black Seas.

Zaluzhny noted that the RF Armed Forces used 72 Kh-101, Kh-22 and Kalibr cruise missiles, and four Kh-59/Kh-31P guided missiles. According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the air defense of their country was able to shoot down 60 guns of the Russian army.

Many cities and regions of Ukraine are de-energized. In addition, heating and water supply were turned off in some settlements, and public transport stopped.
