December 30 marks the 100th anniversary of the creation USSR. On the positive impact unification of several statesas well as about the book “GKChP: Investigation established”, published by Argumenty Nedeli Publishing House LLC, in an interview with argumenti.ru, the former Prosecutor General of Russia told Valentin Stepankov.

He noted that the unification of states in 1922 was ideologically motivated. The Bolsheviks wanted to bring communist ideology to the USSR.

Stepankov said that on November 24, 1991, the deputies prepared a resolution, after which the Supreme Council of Russia adopted it. Since then, a unified system of prosecutor’s offices has been created in the bodies of the Russian Federation.

The expert said that the book “GKChP: Established by the Investigation” reflects the atmosphere that hovered in society, since the GKChP case was heard throughout the country. His work contains documented facts. In the book you can find answers to the myths formed in society. For example, there is an erroneous assumption that Mikhail Gorbachev took part in the conspiracy.

“After a careful reading of my book, the reader will think that if the judge of the Supreme Court of Russia had shown greater perseverance and integrity in considering the case and the gekachepists had been deservedly punished, the events of 1993 could have developed according to a different scenario,” Stepankov said.
