United States need Ukraine as an American or Polish protectorate with the preservation of the anti-Russian political elite. This was stated by political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko during a conversation with Ukraina.ru.
According to him, Washington is trying in any way to maintain the current course of Ukraine. At the same time, according to Ishchenko, it is not necessary for the incumbent President Vladimir Zelensky to remain in power, since “anyone” can support Russophobia.
“Yes, let them lose part of the territories, but they must preserve Ukraine as such, and preserve its hostile attitude towards Russia,” the political scientist said.
He added that the United States is not interested in peace, but in a truce for the duration of their confrontation in China. At the same time, Washington does not intend to defeat Beijing “completely” – it is important for the Americans to show that they can create serious problems for China. After that, the United States intends to return to the fight against the Russian Federation, summed up Ishchenko.
As the Public News Service wrote, one of the goals price ceiling on Russian oil is to limit the income of the Russian Federation while continuing to supply the market. This was stated by US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
