Ukrainian soldier who threw a grenade was sentenced to 14 years in prison


The Supreme Court of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) sentenced a serviceman of the 24th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces to 14 years in a maximum security colony Ukraine (APU) Vladimir Gulavsky. Lenta.ru was informed about this by the Main Military Prosecutor’s Office.

Gulavsky was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 356 (“Cruel treatment of the civilian population and the use of prohibited methods in an armed conflict”) and Part 2 of Article 167 (“Deliberate damage to someone else’s property by explosion, resulting in significant damage”) of the Criminal Code RF.

According to investigators, on May 21, 2022, a military man was near the apartment building of the Mriya Youth Residential Complex in Severodonetsk and threw an anti-personnel grenade in the direction of one of the apartments of the building. As a result of his actions, the housing and property of one of the townspeople was significantly damaged.

Previously, the Supreme Court of the LPR in absentia sentenced Ukrainian officer Vladimir Bolekhan, who gave the order to shell residential buildings, was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
