Research Director of the German Council for Foreign Relations in Berlin, Christian Moelling, said that in January and February, the Armed Forces of Ukraine plans to launch an offensive on two fronts: in Zaporozhye and Luhansk. This is reported by the German TV channel ZDF.

According to Melling, most likely, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will take the strategic initiative in early 2023 and use it for counterattacks against the Russian army in January-February.

“The most likely front lines for this are the Zaporozhye region and the northern part of the Lugansk region,” Melling said.

On February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation Army launched a special military operation on Ukraine.

Commander of the special forces “Akhmat” Apty Alaudinov said that the army Russia is confidently advancing along the line of clashes, and the Ukrainian militants are exhausted and refuse to go on the attack.

The former assistant to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine until 2014, Lieutenant Colonel Oleksiy Selivanov, said that Kyiv is tightening the punishment for desertion, which indicates multiple cases of escape from positions. Selivanov stressed that people simply do not want to be “grave” in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
