Two Skopints face jail time for growing cannabis

In Skopin, the illegal activities of two local residents were stopped. Employees of the Directorate for Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Ryazan Region; policemen from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Skopinsky”; officers of the Grom special forces unit searched the homes of two local residents. They seized plant drugs and a hand grenade. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The police detained a 44-year-old skopinets. His private home was searched. The police found pots in which the man grew 25 varietal hemp bushes. The police also seized about 2 kg of cannabis seeds. According to preliminary information, the owner of the dwelling intended to plant them in open ground and grow a large plantation. In addition, investigators found an object resembling a grenade in the closet. The examination carried out confirmed that the find turned out to be a hand grenade of the Russian Geographical Society.

As it turned out, the man’s friend kept the manufactured marijuana. Police officers seized 83 grams of ready-made marijuana and parts of narcotic cannabis weighing 270 grams from a 35-year-old skopinets.

Investigators of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Skopinsky” against the 44-year-old attacker opened criminal cases under Part 1 of Art. 231 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal cultivation of narcotic plants on a large scale); Part 1 Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition and storage of firearms and ammunition). A criminal case was initiated against the 35-year-old Skopints under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition, storage and manufacture of narcotic drugs on a large scale). The matter is under investigation.
