Late on Saturday evening, airstrikes were carried out in northeastern Syria, Agence France-Presse reports. According to the agency, the strikes were carried out by the Turkish army.

According to Farhad Shami, a spokesman for the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces, Turkey’s main target was the city of Kobani, in the north of Aleppo province. The Kurdish Party also reported attacks on other provinces in Syria.

Earlier, Ankara blamed the terrorist attack in Istanbul, which killed 6 people, on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party.

Turkey has not yet made official statements about the strikes on Kobani.
