Representative of the President Turkey Ibrahim Kalin stated that Ankara expects from USA and Russia fulfillment of obligations to ensure security at the border with Syria. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

This includes, among other things, a memorandum of understanding signed in 2019 between Russia and Turkey. The document contains 10 paragraphs. After the signing of the document and the withdrawal of the Kurds from the Syrian-Turkish border, joint Russian-Turkish patrols began.

“We reaffirm our expectations that the United States and Russia will fulfill their obligations arising from the 2019 agreements and clear our borders of terrorism,” Kalyn quoted the news agency as saying during a speech on NTV.

He promised that “the fight against terrorist elements” that pose a threat to Turkey’s security will continue.

Earlier it was reported that the withdrawal of Turkish troops from Syria needed steps in the political process. This was announced by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
