President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday said Turkey could launch a ground operation in Syria following deadly strikes by Ankara and Kurdish militants in northern Syria.

“There is no doubt that this operation will be limited to an air operation only,” Erdogan told reporters on his way back to Turkey from Qatar.

He added that Russia has not fulfilled the agreement reached in 2019 to cleanse northern Syria of terrorists. AFP.

Turkey on Sunday carried out airstrikes on the bases of the Kurds in northern Syria and Iraq. On Monday, at least three people, including a child, were killed in a strike from Syrian territory in a Turkish border town.
