Passengers traveling on the upper shelves of trains will have the right to take a seat at a table in a compartment for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At certain hours, neighbors will be required to give them a place on the lower shelves.

Now the right to sit on the lower shelves of the compartments of trains was given to people who bought a ticket to the seats at the top. This is enshrined in an order issued by the Ministry of Transport of Russia and published on the Internet portal of legal information. According to the document, from September 1, 2023, at the request of the conductor of a long-distance train car, passengers of the lower shelves must provide a seat at the table to their neighbors who travel on the upper shelf for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The order also establishes the time of eating: in the morning from 7:00 to 10:00, at lunch from 12:00 to 15:00, in the evening from 19:00 to 21:00. The duration of breakfast and dinner is no more than half an hour, lunch – no more than 60 minutes, TASS reports.

Now the passengers of the upper shelves sit on the lower ones only if the “owners” of the seats allow them to. Formerly online edition “Teacher’s newspaper” told that the Government has expanded the list of diseases for which children are entitled to free travel to the place of treatment. Prior to this, only children with disabilities with spinal cord diseases or injuries, as well as children with disabilities who live in the Far East or in those territories where there is no railway connection, could use free air travel to the place of treatment.
