They wanted to prohibit Russians from renting out apartments without State Services

To solve the problems associated with short-term rentals, it is necessary to prohibit renting out housing without the State Services portal. This proposal was made by a member of the Committee State Duma for construction and housing and communal services Alexander Yakubovsky, transmits “Parliamentary newspaper”.

The deputy noted that it is impossible to completely prohibit Russians from renting out apartments for short-term rent, since hotels are not available in all cities. “Plus, this form of hiring gives us the opportunity to maneuver and adapt to seasonal and event influxes of tourists,” added Yakubovsky.

However, linking to “State Services”, which are in symbiosis with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Tax Service and other departments, will help limit such activities. According to Yakubovsky, owners can publish advertisements for housing rentals on the portal, providing all the necessary information and paying the state fee. “As a result, all control agencies will know who the owner of the apartment is, who rented it and at what time, and to whom, if anything, they can make claims and impose punishment,” the deputy explained.

During the discussion of the issue, an alternative was also proposed – a special federal portal. If a citizen cannot find information about a potential landlord on it, it means that he is renting out housing illegally.

Previously Yakubovsky appreciated the idea of renting apartments daily only with the permission of neighbors. He said that the bill is on a fine line of understanding where the rights and freedoms of some end and the rights and freedoms of others begin.
