Washington sees no way to change the rules UN to exclude RF from among the permanent members of the Security Council of the world organization. This follows from the statement of the head of the press service of the US administration, Karine Jean-Pierre.
“If there was a way to remove Russia from the UN Security Council, we would immediately begin to do so,” said a White House spokeswoman.
Jean-Pierre added that the leadership of the United States “does not see the possibility” of changing the UN rules, and therefore is concentrating efforts on trying to isolate the Russian Federation in international organizations, as well as to bring Moscow to “responsibility” with the help of sanctions pressure.
As the Public News Service wrote earlier, Vienna, Berlin and Rome were among the fifty states that opposed the Russian resolutions in the United Nations General Assembly condemning the glorification of Nazism.
Earlier, the General Assembly of the world organization adopted a resolution of the Russian Federation on countering the glorification of Nazism. 120 states supported the adoption of the document, fifty countries voted against, ten more abstained.
