UN called the assassination attempt on the head of the Russian House in the Central African Republic (CAR) Dmitry Syty “a terrorist attack.” The international organization wished a speedy recovery to the victim.

A spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, said the organization has not yet been asked to contribute in any way to the investigation. He stressed that the UN obviously “condemns such attacks.”

A little earlier, it became known that a threatening note was found at the site of the explosion in Sytyi’s office. According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, most likely, he began to parse the mail on the table, opened the package and began to take out the contents from it. At that moment there was an explosion.”

Earlier, the Public News Service reported that the incident was regarded by the Russian Embassy as assassination attempt.
