On Friday, December 16, the Supreme Court (SC) of Russia upheld the verdict in the case of the terrorist attack in the St. Petersburg metro, which occurred in 2017. About this with reference to the press service of the court informs TASS.
Details. The defense asked the Supreme Court to cancel the verdict and send the case back for a new trial. The prosecutor called the verdict justified and asked to leave it in force.

At trial, the accused told about torture and maintained their innocence. One of the defendants, Shohista Karimova, told reporters that the case was fabricated. In her apartment, operatives found detonators, microcircuits and wires, which, according to Karimova, were wiped on her hair and thrust into her armpits before the investigator arrived.
