Russian ambassador to United Kingdom Andrei Kelin said that since the proclamation of Charles III as the new monarch of Great Britain, there have been no contacts between Moscow and London. Izvestia writes about it.
He explained that the members of the royal family were advised not to make contact with the Russian Federation.
“We are not met with open arms, but we maintain a dialogue,” the diplomat said.
As the Public News Service previously reported, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov admitted that the Russian Federation would conduct a prisoner exchange with the United States until the end of this of the year.
According to him, there is always a chance, so the exchange can take place in the near future. The deputy minister also added that Moscow would offer Washington new dates for the meeting of the commission on the Treaty on the Reduction of Strategic Offensive Arms.
At the same time, Ryabkov noted that such a meeting is unlikely to take place before the end of the year.
