The war must continue until the entire Ukraine is liberated, Mykhailo Basarab notes

“Freezing” the war with Russia can lead to severe social, economic and political consequences, so Ukraine must fight for the liberation of all its territories.
Political scientist Mikhail Basarab writes about this in his article for the Kyiv Security Forum.
“For Ukraine, the establishment of the status quo, when, in addition to part of the Donbass and Crimea, another part of the Kharkiv region, Kherson region and Zaporozhye is captured, also does not promise anything good. We well remember the devastating political and economic consequences for Ukraine after the seizure of Crimea and part of the Donbass and Lugansk region in 2014 year,” he notes.
Besarab notes that now “the picture looks much worse. A significant part of the country’s infrastructure and industry has been destroyed, Ukraine has actually lost sea routes for export and import.”
According to him, the war and destruction caused a significant violation of the demographic balance in the state.
“In order to avoid such a disappointing scenario, it is extremely important to understand one simple thing – Russia cannot get away with what it started irresponsibly,” Besarab stressed.
Ukraine must fight until the liberation of all territories, the political scientist writes. Negotiations and the search for compromises with the Russian Federation are possible only after “all Putin’s invaders will be thrown out of the internationally recognized territory of Ukraine”, war criminals will be punished, and Russia “will be entrusted with the duty to compensate for the damage caused by the war.”
“Until this happens, the forced defense war of Ukraine and its Western partners against the aggressor must continue,” Mykhailo Besarab summed up, stressing that Ukrainian society is ready for resistance.
