The United States did not intend to enter into a direct confrontation with Russian Federationand provoke this confrontation. This was stated by the head of the press service of the United States Department of Defense Patrick Ryder.

Sending weapons to the Kyiv regime, the Pentagon spokesman indicated support and specified that USA will not allow the Russian Federation to specify what aid to send Ukraine.
