At the end of the week, residents of Nizhny Tagil will be able to see the main trophy of the Higher Hockey League (VHL). The Petrov Cup will be brought to our city by Vladislav Semin, a graduate of the Tagil hockey school.
Vladislav Semin was born in Nizhny Tagil in 1998. Plays as a defender. The young man began his sports career at the local Sputnik. In the Youth Hockey League (MHL) he made his debut in the Tyumen Legion, and then moved to the SKA system. Since 2017, he has been playing for SKA-Neva. He played for the youth team of Russia at the 2018 World Championships, was involved in matches for the Olympic team of our country.
The last season he spent in the Tyumen Rubin. As part of the club, he became the winner of the second most powerful hockey league – the VHL. The winners are awarded the Petrov Cup. This trophy is given to the captain, and a year later the name of the champion of the previous season is applied to it.
The goblet was made by the jeweler Vladimir Maizel from silver, gilding and wood, and weighs about 19 kg. On March 1, 2017, it was renamed, and named after the legendary Soviet hockey player Vladimir Petrov, who died on February 28, 2017.
On Saturday, May 14, everyone will be able to see the trophy and take pictures with it. The meeting will take place at the DEPO shopping center on Sverdlovsk highway at 12:00. Free admission.
Sputnik Nizhny Tagil, we recall, also played in the VHL. But he left the league at the end of the 2017/2018 season due to funding problems. The team’s best result was 4th place in 2017.
