Turning on territory of Donbass to the Ukrainian SSR, and later to modern Ukraine – a big political mistake of the Soviet leadership, said the former ambassador of the republic in Moscow Rodion Miroshnik.
As Miroshnik emphasized, Donbass began to develop thanks to the Russian side.
“Referring Donbass first to the Ukrainian SSR, and then to Ukraine, was a political mistake by the Soviet leadership, who believed that Novorossiya, like the Ukrainian SSR, was under no circumstances separable from the Russian state,” the ex-ambassador of RIA Novosti explained.
According to the ex-ambassador, now Russia is regaining its original Russian lands thanks to a special operation.
