Georgia refuses to introduce anti-Russian sanctions so as not to harm citizens and the security of the country. This was stated by the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, transmits “Sputnik Georgia”.
“We cannot afford to risk the lives of our citizens and the economic situation of the country. No country, including any member European Unionwon’t do that,” he said.
Papuashvili explained that European countries take into account the likely consequences of sanctions when deciding to impose them. “There is no country on earth that would give us security guarantees. In terms of security, we depend only on ourselves,” the speaker of parliament emphasized.
Previously President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili statedthat her country, Ukraine And Moldova will join the European Union at the same time. She predicted that such an event would be a new “big bang.”
