According to bourgas.ru, in the summer of 2022, a ferry service will be launched for numerous Russian tourists who want to relax in Bulgaria, it will take vacationers from Burgas to Batumi. This was recently announced by the executive director of the port of Burgas – Diyan Dimov.

The mayor of Batumi, Archil Chikovani, is arriving in Burgas tonight to sign an agreement on the opening of a ferry crossing.

Motor ship “Vilnius” will run once a week from 4 July. It will depart from berth 11A in the state port, Dimov added. The ferry will have a capacity of 150 cargo units and will be able to carry passengers.

According to Diyan Dimov, the war in Ukraine has aroused serious interest in this direction, since Georgia is unloading cargo destined for Ukraine and transit destinations. Business, on the other hand, is looking for the shortest and most cost-effective routes.

Vilnius is the second ferry after Druzhba to serve the Burgas-Batumi line. It will be served by the largest operator on the Black Sea – Ukrferry.
