The exemplary team “Lights” of the Ryazan College of Culture won the Grand Prix of the “Olympia Dance” competition in Sochi
From May 7 to May 10, the First International Competition-Festival “Olympia Dance” was held in Sochi in the Olympic Village. It was attended by creative teams and individual performers from many regions of Russia. From the Ryazan region, an exemplary team of the folk dance theater “Lights” of the Ryazan College of Culture received an invitation.
Team leader Svetlana Rogachikova-Lezhenkina:
“For the competition, we prepared five dances of different genres in five nominations. We prepared very carefully, we knew that the opponents were strong, and the jury was strict. It is not the first time that we have performed on big stages and the requirements for the participants are well known. I will say that the guys were in a fighting mood and aimed at winning.
According to Svetlana Valentinovna, the organizers of the competition have done everything for a comfortable stay for the participants. The contestants were provided with hotel rooms and a buffet. The hotel has a heated swimming pool. And many, not paying attention to the cool weather, bathed in it. In their free time from rehearsals, the guys, together with the leader, walked around the Olympic Village to its beautiful places. On May 9, we were able to see the “singing fountains” show and admire the magnificent fireworks. Many children saw the sea and dolphins for the first time, which approached the shore at a fairly close distance.
“Words cannot express the feeling we experienced when we were declared the winners. “Lights” for the fourth time for their creative activity was awarded the title of the owner of the Grand Prix; once again became laureates of the 1st degree in all five nominations. Under the terms of the competition, we received an invitation to participate in the Final Competitions in 2022, which will be held in November in St. Petersburg and Moscow.”
