Senators from the new regions of the Russian Federation to the Federation Council will be appointed before September 2023, as the procedure is being delayed. Kommersant writes about this, citing a source in the leadership DPR.
According to the interlocutor of the publication, the acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin and the People’s Council will not delegate their representatives to the Federation Council until the adoption of the new constitution of the republic or until the elections in 2023.
It is noted that martial law has been introduced in the Donetsk People’s Republic at the moment, so elections cannot be held.
