According to Dagens Nyheter, the majority of Swedish citizens opposed changing the state’s legislation in order to join North Atlantic alliance.

The following information is given: “79% of the people surveyed in the kingdom agreed with the answer option, which implied that Sweden “should uphold Swedish laws and our principles as the rule of law in relation to Turkey.” 10% of the respondents were in favor of joining the alliance as soon as possible.”

Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that the applications of Finland and Sweden to join the North Atlantic bloc will be ratified after these countries fulfill all the obligations stipulated by the tripartite agreement.

He drew attention to the fact that for this Helsinki and Stockholm still have to resolve a large number of issues. At the same time, according to Cavusoglu, Ankara is not limited in time.

The minister noted that the Turkish side agreed to start negotiations on membership with the signing of an agreement. If Helsinki and Stockholm comply with its conditions, then this document will go to parliament. More about it read in material Public news service.
