In the cities and regions of Dagestan, events are being held to improve military graves as part of the celebration of the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Youth of Dagestan, Charodinsky, Akhtynsky, Tsuntinsky, Tabasaransky, Kizlyarsky, Akushinsky, Magaramkentsky, Derbent, Khasavyurtovsky, Kumtorkalinsky and other districts, as well as the cities of Makhachkala, Kizlyar, Derbent, Kizilyurt and Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk, joined the events.

The community work days were attended by activists of the United Russia regional branch, Victory volunteers, students and schoolchildren. They cleaned up the areas next to the graves, whitewashed and cleaned the memorial plaques and monuments.

“Residents of our district actively support the holding of subbotniks at military graves. In total, there are 3 Fires of Memory and 22 obelisks in the area. All of them were removed and landscaped on the eve of Victory Day. I thank everyone who joined this important and useful cause,” said the director of the Youth and Tourism Department of the Magaramkent region.

The organizers note that the event will continue until May 9 and will be held in all municipalities of the republic.
