Sherlock showrunner Steven Moffat says he’s ready to start filming a sequel “even tomorrow” series, however, on one condition. According to the producer, the leading actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman should return to the project.

“They’re on their way to bigger and better things, but Martin and Benedict, please come back,” Moffat joked on BBC Radio 4’s “Today” morning show.

Sherlock premiered on BBC One in 2010. In it, the plots of the classic books of Arthur Conan Doyle were transferred to the modern London. In just a few years, 4 seasons were filmed, and a Christmas special episode was also shown in early 2016.

Earlier, the Public News Service reported that director Miguel Sapochnik could step down showrunner second season of House of the Dragon due to HBO’s refusal to hire his wife. HBO rejected Sapochnik, citing Raben’s inexperience.
