Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Papuashvili explained the refusal of anti-Russian sanctions
Georgia is not ready to introduce anti-Russian sanctions. This is due to the fact that the country’s authorities do not want to harm citizens and the security of the state. The corresponding statement was made by the speaker of the Georgian parliament, Shalva Papuashvili. This was reported by Sputnik Georgia.
“We cannot afford to risk the lives of our citizens and the economic situation of the country. No country, including any member of the European Union, will do this,” the politician shared.
Papuashvili also drew attention to the fact that European states take into account the likely consequences of restrictions when deciding to introduce these restrictions. At the same time, he emphasized, Georgia will not be able to receive security guarantees from anyone. The politician said that in this case the country depends only on itself.
Previously Public News Service reported, that Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili believes that Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova can join the European Union at the same time. She believes this event will be a “big bang” for the global community.
