In Spassk, on July 30, City Day was celebrated on Lenin Square. According to a long tradition, Marina Fedneva became its host. Honorary Citizen of the Spassky District Irina Badikova read author’s poems about the small motherland. The solemn part of the festive event was opened by the head of the district – the chairman of the regional Duma Olga Venevtseva and the head of the administration of the Spassk-Ryazan urban settlement Vladimir Lebin.

Vladimir Lebin:

“Dear countrymen, dear residents and guests of the city! I sincerely congratulate you on the holiday and wish each of you health, happiness and success. It is up to you and me, the inhabitants of Spassk, to a large extent depends on what it will be like and how we will live in it. Let’s all love our city together, take care of it and make it better every day.”

On the festive day, on the stage, according to tradition, family anniversaries, newlyweds and those who have recently become parents were congratulated on the holiday. The heads of enterprises and institutions of the city presented certificates and gifts to their best employees. They also noted the achievements of Spassky athletes, volunteers and activists of TOS.

Amusements, shopping arcades worked on Lenin Square, children played and competed in competitions. The main event traditionally became a festive lottery. Each of the owners of the coveted ticket dreamed of winning a prize. Some lucky ones even left with two gifts that day.

Creative teams and soloists of the city and regional houses of culture performed. The City Day ended with a celebratory disco.
