On May 10, Sergey Melikov held a meeting on the prevention and elimination of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety.

He recalled the risks in the field of fire safety in the summer and instructed to increase the degree of preparedness for possible threats. The head of the region drew attention to the fact that many rivers flow on the territory of the Republic of Dagestan, which create certain risks during the passage of floods.

Muslim Devrishbekov, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Dagestan, spoke about the results of checking the readiness of municipalities for the flood-hazardous period of 2022. As he said, as part of the verification activities, special attention was paid to the readiness of municipalities whose territories are prone to emergencies during the spring and summer floods, these are Babayurtovsky, Kizlyarsky, Khasavyurtovsky and Kizilyurtsky districts.

Problems related to bringing the dam located on the Sulak River near the village of Nechaevka into compliance with the technical standards were also voiced. According to Rustam Tatarkhanov, the wear of the dam structures is up to 85%.

After listening to the reports, Sergey Melikov emphasized that in Dagestan a large number of problems in the field of environmental management are associated with water resources: these are pollution of water bodies with sewage, technical, industrial waste, and issues of catching fish, etc. In this regard, the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic of Dagestan, together with the Main Dagestan was instructed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic to intensify work to identify enterprises whose activities do not correspond to the activities of enterprises.

The head of Dagestan also drew attention to the need to organize high-quality training of volunteers to ensure the normal functioning of the newly created units. The heads of municipalities were instructed to organize workplaces equipped with appropriate equipment for working in personal accounts as soon as possible.
