City Hall press office reportedthat on December 16, the Head of Yekaterinburg, Alexei Orlov, held a meeting with district leaders. They discussed the current situation with the incidence in the region, as well as vaccination against COVID-19 and influenza.

According to the Deputy Head of the city Ekaterina Sibirtseva, according to the data as of December 16, 2,000 children have the flu, 234 classes have already been quarantined.

Sibirtseva noted that the remote format is not new for the city education system. The algorithm developed during covid restrictions allows you to maintain a full-fledged educational process remotely. The format has its pros and cons, but the main advantage is the ability to separate children’s groups and stop the spread of infection.

She noted that students who do not have the technical ability to attend classes remotely will be given the technical means used at school. Additional education institutions will also continue to work remotely.

Formerly online edition “Teacher’s newspaper” reportedthat Pskov schools are going into a week-long quarantine due to the alarming epidemic situation in the city. The governor said that from December 19 to 25, students are being transferred to a remote mode. The measure was caused by exceeding the epidemic threshold by 155%.
