Ryazan residents celebrated the anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the LPR with a patriotic rally
On May 12, 2022, the Lugansk People’s Republic celebrates the eighth anniversary of the founding of the republic. On this day in Ryazan, as in many other Russian cities, patriotic rallies “ZaRussia”, “Zamirbeznazizma” took place.
Crowds of citizens gathered on the site in front of the monument to the Russian military leader Mikhail Skobelev. There were representatives of municipal authorities, various public, national, patriotic organizations, Yunarmiya members and simply caring Ryazan people.
The host of the rally recalled that this year the LPR celebrates its birthday for the first time as a state recognized by Russia. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the recognition of the sovereignty of the LDNR. And on February 24, in response to the request of the leaders of the Donbass republics for help, the head of Russia announced a special military operation.
The participants were greeted by a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Deputy Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Ryazan Region, Professor of the Russian State University named after S.A. Esenina Olga Voronova. She recalled that the rally is taking place against the backdrop of vivid impressions from the recent celebration of the national date – Victory Day, from the multi-million march of the Immortal Regiment.
“12 million of our compatriots, including Ryazan, took to the streets and squares on May 9 to say that every Soviet, Russian family contributed to the victory over fascism. And we will not allow the fascist ideology to be revived again near our borders,” Olga Voronova emphasized. – Our “Immortal Regiment” on this day fulfilled not only a patriotic, but also an important political mission. It became a vivid evidence of the nationwide support of our Supreme Commander and the special operation he is conducting to protect the people of Donbass, to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine.”
Olga Voronova added that for the first time in many years, the Victory Day was also celebrated by residents of the liberated territories – residents of Melitopol and Mariupol, parts of the Zaporozhye, Kherson, Kharkiv regions.
Chairman of the Ryazan regional union of trade union organizations Inna Kalashnikova, head of the Ryazan regional branch of the All-Russian Public Movement of Veterans of Local Wars and Military Conflicts “Combat Brotherhood” Alexander Kostrov and others also spoke at the rally.
