Police Turkey detained Russian tourists at the airport in Istanbul, who were found to have 1,200 smuggled sable furs worth 1.5 million Turkish liras. This information was shared by the Daily Sabah.

According to the Ministry of Trade and Customs, suspicion was aroused by three passengers who flew to Istanbul from Moscow. They were stopped at customs after leaving the international terminal and taken to the control platforms.

“Among the things that were found when scanning the luggage of tourists from Russia, there were suspicious items. At the moment, an official investigation into the incident is being carried out on the territory of the Gaziosmanpasha Chief Prosecutor’s Office,” the statement said.

Formerly Public News Service informed that about a thousand people are now unable to leave Vnukovo airport. They were all supposed to fly to Egypt, but Jordan banned Russian planes from flying into the country’s air territory.
