Russian bodybuilder Anton Gerasimov spoke about nine types of doping in his sample. The athlete’s words lead Sports.ru.
“Nine types of doping in one sample – a record? It’s always nice to be a record holder. But in general, if you study the reports of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), you can see: a large number of athletes are disqualified every year,” Gerasimov said. He added that bodybuilding, as an elite sport, cannot be done without “support.”
“About nine drugs. If you look, three of them are diuretics, they are needed to remove excess fluid, and one is to reduce side effects. But, alas, it’s easier for the media not to clarify, but to write exactly like that,” the bodybuilder concluded.
In May of this year, Gerasimov won the Arnold Classic Africa competition in South Africa among amateurs and became fourth among professionals in the heavyweight division. His doping test revealed nine prohibited drugs, including three diuretics and several steroids: oxandrolone, stanozolol, drostanolone, methenolone, trenbolone. He was disqualified for six years.
