Deputy Prime Minister of Dagestan Ruslan Aliyev, on behalf of the Head of the Republic of Dagestan Sergey Melikov and on his own behalf, congratulated the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Akhmednabi Apashayev on the upcoming Victory Day.

The veteran met his guests in a warm atmosphere and captivated them with vivid stories and memories of the events of that time. He told the guests about his life and exploits. Akhmed-Nabi Alievich was actively interested in the issues of the political life of the republic, the guests consulted him on every issue and shared with him the most relevant news that is in the republic.

Apashev Akhmed-Nabi Alievich was born in 1926 in Buynaksk, the veteran turned 96 on February 13. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a sailor. Being still quite a boy, fond of Columbus secretly from his parents went to the front, but he was returned home. After school he entered the Leningrad Higher Naval School. Frunze (now St. Petersburg Naval Institute). I met the Great Patriotic War as a cadet of the school. Akhmed-Nabi Alievich got to the front as a private in 1942. He, along with other cadets, was sent to clear minefields in the Baltic and Karelia. I reached the Pskov region and, being on the front line, met the days of victory in the trenches shoulder to shoulder with my colleagues.

After the war, he continued his studies at the nautical school, worked on merchant ships in Leningrad, rose to the rank of captain of the 1st rank, then returned to Dagestan. In his native land he was greeted very warmly, immediately offered a job. At first, Akhmed-Nabi Alievich was the captain’s assistant, then he was entrusted with a whole tanker. According to him, the sailors were then held in high esteem, since at that time, many ships sailed along the Caspian. He was awarded medals “For military merit”, “For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”.

In turn, a young activist, winner of the All-Russian competition “Big Change” Daniyal Shabanov prepared a song and warm congratulations for the veteran. The guests were presented with various memorable gifts, flowers and a cash reward from the Head of the Republic of Moldova.

At the end of the visit, the guests thanked Ahmed-Nabi Alievich for the warm welcome, expressed their gratitude and wished him good health, prosperity and long life.
