An evening rehearsal of a military parade dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War was held in Rostov on Theater Square, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
The crews of the foot columns of the military units of the Rostov-on-Don garrison were trained, including the personnel of the motorized rifle, tank and artillery regiments of the 150th motorized rifle division, special forces, communications, and electronic warfare. Also, military personnel of the headquarters of the Southern Military District and the 4th Army of the Air Force and Air Defense marched in the parade.
In addition, parade crews of the border service, the Russian Guard, the Rostov Law Institute, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, youth soldiers and cadets of the Cossack corps passed through the square. A company of drummers from the Belokalitvinsky Matvey Platov of the Cadet Corps led the foot formation. Musical accompaniment was provided by the combined military band of the Rostov garrison.
As part of a mechanized column, about 50 units of military equipment proceeded along Theater Square: legendary participants in the battles of the Great Patriotic War – BM-13 Katyusha rocket launchers, as well as ZIL-157 trucks with ZIS-3 divisional cannons of the 1942 model. Also on display were BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, Tornado-G multiple launch rocket systems, a KamAZ-6350 airborne tractor with Msta-B 152-mm howitzers towed, and Iskander-Tactical missile systems. M, the latest Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems, the new generation S-350 Vityaz anti-aircraft missile systems, one of the most powerful tanks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation – the T-72B3 tank with improved combat characteristics.
The mechanized column also included modern TDA-3 smoke machines, RHM-6 reconnaissance chemical machines, Krasukha electronic warfare systems, various modifications of KamAZ off-road vehicles, and the Uran-6 robotic demining system, which was used in Syria for demining Palmyra, Aleppo and Deir ez-Zor.
