On the table of the cosmonauts and astronauts who are now working on the International Space Station, there was a traditional Olivier salad, as well as shrimp and black caviar.

Members of the space expedition 15 times crossed the time zones in which the New Year began. On Sunday, when it was 13:51 in Moscow, she flew north of the Hawaiian Islands – the last and “latest” time zone in which the New Year came.

According to the ballistics and navigation support service of the TsNIIMash Mission Control Center (part of the Roscosmos State Corporation), the first time the station crew celebrated the New Year at 13:06 (Moscow time) on December 31, when the ISS was over the Pacific Ocean, east of the Mariana Islands. The New Year’s table of the Russian crew of the ISS was “simple”. According to the commander of the ISS, Sergei Prokopiev, quoted by the press service of Roscosmos, the cosmonauts celebrated the New Year with beluga, shrimp, and black caviar. It is specified that all the dishes were canned, and there were few of them. The main decoration of the cosmonauts’ table, as in many Russian families, was Olivier salad.
