As he says in his Telegram channel the head of the Nikolaevsky district of the Khabarovsk Territory Anatoly Leonov, a squally wind damaged the roofs of kindergartens and schools. A snow cyclone is currently raging in the region. It is especially strong in the northern regions.

It is known that a squally wind overturned a stop, knocked down road signs, struck buildings, glass was broken in preschool institutions, roofs were damaged in the Korablik kindergarten in Nikolaevsk-on-Amur, the village of Krasnoye, and a school in the village of Mnogovershinny.

In addition, due to gusts of wind, power cuts began at night in the settlements of the region and in the city itself. Such phenomena occur due to the overlap of wires. Repair crews are currently on the ground.

The authorities urge residents of the region to take precautions and take care of the safety of their children, avoid buildings with poorly fixed structures and old trees, park cars in a safe area, and refrain from exits and trips outside settlements, especially to water bodies.

Meteorologists warn that strong winds will continue in the northern Nikolaevsky, Ulchsky, Tuguro-Chumikansky and Ayano-Maysky regions. Heavy snow will also continue and wind gusts will reach 25-30 m/s along the river valleys, and up to 30-35 m/s on the Okhotsk coast. In other areas, light precipitation is observed, in some places a blizzard with wind up to 15-22 m/s. There is snow on the roads.

It is also known that the Vanino crossing in the Khabarovsk Territory – Kholmsk, Sakhalin, connecting the island with the mainland, does not work, some roads are closed to buses, and some flights have been rescheduled.
