General Ukrainian Army Sergei Melnik said that the Armed Forces Russian Federation may launch a new offensive against Kharkov in order to cut it off from Kyiv. According to the military, this operation will begin after the soil freezes.

According to the general’s forecast, more than 200,000 Russian fighters may take part in the offensive. At the same time, Melnyk expressed confidence that their preparation allegedly “would leave much to be desired.”

The Ukrainian military believes that the main task of the Russian Armed Forces will be to cut off Kharkiv from the capital of the republic, so that the group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could not start moving west to help Kyiv.

A special military operation continues on the current and former territories of Ukraine from February 24, 2022. The main tasks of the SVO are the demilitarization and denazification of the republic. As the head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin noted, Russia seeks to ensure the safety of its citizens, including residents of the LPR and DPR.

Earlier, the acting governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo said that most of the destruction in Kherson was caused by attacks by mobile mortar groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. More on the topic read in material Public news service.
