According to the Jutarnji list, refugees from Ukrainewho were placed in the Pitsok Hotel in the city of Djurdjevac in Croatia, staged a “riot” because of the plans of the local leadership to relocate them.
Many Ukrainians were extremely annoyed by the sudden news, as they had already found work in Dzhurjevac, and some refugee children began attending kindergartens and schools.
Refugee Elena Chernoshok said the following: “We really appreciate everything that the Croatian state has done and is doing for us <…> But many of us work here, and this does not let us lose heart. How can we explain this to kids who have made friends at school?”
Later, the authorities decided that they would not touch the Ukrainians, and “for a while” they could live in peace in the city.
As the Public News Service previously reported, Geng Shuang, Deputy Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of China to the UN, during a meeting of the Security Council of the international organization held on Tuesday, December 6, called on the international community to intensify the provision of humanitarian help Ukraine against the backdrop of the coming winter.
