Acting Head Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin stated on Telegram that APU because of the losses, they decided to recoup the civilian population.
“Suffering serious losses at the front, Ukraine decided to take revenge on the civilian population and intensified shelling of the cities of the Republic. Our artillery is doing everything to suppress enemy firing points,” he wrote.
“The task of the civil authorities here, on the ground, is to protect the lives of our people as much as possible.”
The politician emphasized that he ordered to check the condition of the bomb shelters and turn off the locking system for access doors, and also signed an instruction to transfer employees who are able to perform their duties remotely to remote work.
Previously, the Public News Service wrote that Pushilin announced the impossibility of negotiating peace agreements with Kyiv after the most serious blow to Donetsk since 2014, which was inflicted on Thursday, December 15.
In addition, he recalled the lack of independence of the Ukrainian authorities, which was confirmed by the Minsk talks. At the same time, it is also quite difficult to rely on guarantors of agreements at present.
