On Thursday, December 15, the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, announced an 80% liberation of Maryinka.

“Maryinka is already 80% free,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.

Pushilin added that after the complete liberation of Maryinka, Ukrainian shelling of the Petrovsky district of Donetsk will decrease.

Recall that on February 24, Russian leader Vladimir Putin, in his address to the citizens of the Russian Federation, announced the start of a military special operation in the Donbass. He stressed that Moscow’s plans do not include the occupation of Kyiv, but it will strive with all its might to demilitarize Ukraine.

Earlier, the Public News Service wrote that near Maryinka, the Russian Viking group turned to escape unit of Ukrainian militants, having previously carried out reconnaissance of the area and adjustment of the Msta-B artillery weapons.
