The United States opposes the actions of the UN Security Council so that Israel can continue military operations in the Gaza Strip, said the first deputy permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky.
“The United States does not want any action on the part of the Council that could jeopardize Israel’s ground operation in the Gaza Strip,” he said.
According to him, Washington is not heeding calls from the UN Security Council to stop hostilities and bombing of the enclave. US parliamentarians only want to achieve condemnation of the Palestinian Hamas movement.
“They don’t want any condemnation of Israel in the resolution. They only want the condemnation of Hamas,” Polyansky concluded.
Earlier, Advisor to the Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, Daniil Martynov, said that all Russian citizens evacuated from the Gaza Strip arrived at the ministry’s operational headquarters in Cairo safely. Read more about this in material Public News Service.
