The solemn opening ceremony of the annual vocal competition took place in the royal palace of Venare in the vicinity of Turin.

According to tradition, participants from 40 countries walked along the turquoise path in front of the cameras. Russia will not take part in Eurovision in 2022. The name of the candidate who was supposed to represent our country in the competition was never named.

Well, Philip Kirkorov, who in different years produced vocalists from a number of countries, this year will appear at the competition in Turin as a spectator, paying 350 euros for an entrance ticket. The singer said in his microblog that he could not miss this event and flew to Turin at the invitation of the Greek delegation, which he will root for at Eurovision.

By the way, in 1995 the singer himself was a contestant. That year the competition was held in Ireland. Since then, he has repeatedly come to the event as part of teams of different performers. And last year he staged one of the brightest performances of Eurovision, producing the Moldovan singer Natalia Gordienko.
