The length of service for calculating a pension includes those periods during which a person was subject to compulsory state pension insurance, and for the period from the date of entry into force of the Law of Ukraine dated 09.07.2003 No. year) – insurance premiums paid monthly, recalls “Retired”.

The basis for enrolling the period before January 1, 2004 are entries in the work book, made by the state employment service. In the absence of a work book, as well as in cases where the work book does not contain the necessary entries or contains incorrect or inaccurate entries, it is possible to confirm the period of receipt of unemployment benefits on the basis of a relevant certificate from the employment service.

After January 1, 2004, the periods when a person was registered with an employment center and received unemployment benefits (except for a one-time payment for organizing entrepreneurial activities) and material assistance during the period of vocational training, retraining or advanced training (Article 24 of the Law of Ukraine) dated July 9, 2003 “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance”).

Also, after certain changes in the legislation, the periods for receiving unemployment benefits, defined by Article 24 of the Law of Ukraine dated 09.07.2003 “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance”, which are included in the length of service when calculating a pension, were supplemented. The previously defined periods of receiving partial unemployment benefits were added, including for the period of quarantine due to COVID-19.
