Pavlovich made a statement after his defeat in the fight with Aspinall

Russian mixed style (MMA) fighter Sergei Pavlovich made a statement after losing a fight with Briton Tom Aspinall. The athlete spoke out on Instagram (social network is prohibited in RF; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned).

“I would like to thank every spectator who supported me and worried about me. Let’s move forward and get to work!” – said Pavlovich. He emphasized that he felt the support of the fans on the eve of the fight and continues to feel it on social networks to this day.

The fight between Pavlovich and Aspinall took place as part of the UFC 295 tournament, held in New York (USA). British knocked out Russian in the second minute of the first round and won the belt of the organization’s interim heavyweight champion.

The defeat was the second in Pavlovich’s career. Before that, in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), he lost to the Dutchman Alistair Overeem. The Russian fighter has 18 victories; before the fight with Aspinall, he won six fights in a row. The Briton won for the 14th time in professional MMA with three defeats.

Initially, the current heavyweight title holder, the American, was supposed to fight at UFC 295 Jon Jones and his compatriot Stipe Miocic. However, shortly before the fight, Jones was injured, which is why he was forced to withdraw from the fight. Pavlovich was the alternate for this fight, but the UFC matched him with Aspinall.
